| Bike Trek |
| Fat-tire riders will enjoy biking on our open prairie with the sun on their backs and the wind in their faces. From Foote Creek Bed and Breakfast, bicyclists can ride the 3.75 miles to Forest Drive on the north side of Richmond Lake and pick up an additional 4.3 miles of trail, catching glimpses of wildlife and listening to songbirds in the 200-acre area. If you’d like a longer ride, a 22.75-mile mostly flat, easy, route connects the Richmond Lake State Recreation area and Mina Lake State Recreation area, incorporating both gravel and paved roads and a 7-mile loop around Mina Lake. Bring your mountain bike and helmet. This 2-night package for 2 includes picnic lunches, dinner, campfire, your night’s stay and breakfast each morning for only $185.

| Foote Creek Bed and Breakfast is located 2 miles from Richmond Lake State Recreation Area, a 368-acre park with conifers, deciduous woodland and wetlands around the lake. You’ll see long-eared owl, northern goshawk, and loons in migration, ducks, herons, woodpeckers, songbirds, and warblers in migration. Best birding months are April through October. This 2-night package for 2 people includes packed picnic lunches, dinner and dessert, the night’s stays, breakfast and a State Park entrance license for $185. One-night package, including all of the above is just $135. We’ll be sure you have directions and maps to 7 additional birding sites within an hour’s drive, as well as the 31 other birding sites in Northeastern South Dakota within 150 miles of our home. Spend a day or two, or three in the Northern Black Hills and visit ancient and current phenomena. After reaching the top of Spearfish Canyon, continue south to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments. Go to Spearfishcanyon.com/byway.htm to preview this National Scenic Bayway. This is a whole day adventure, so you will be glad to relax in the hot tub,
out under the stars, at Canyonside B & B. The next day head west into Wyoming to visit Devils Tower, return to Spearfish via Highway 34, through Belle Fourche to visit any of the ten great antique stores, then on to Spearfish and Canyonside B & B. There will be time for an hors d'oeuvre and refreshment and on to dinner at any of the fine dining establishments in Spearfish. Spend a third night and get a ten percent discount on your room. There is so much to do in the Black Hills of South Dakota, you will want to return again and again. And if the timing is right you may attend a live performance at the Matthews Opera House.
