Storybook Land
Storybook Land is an enchanted land of make-believe and fun. Families will experience a world of imagination capturing all the myth and magic of your favorite nursery rhymes from Humpty Dumpty to Hickory Dickory Dock. Slide down Jan and Jill’s Hill or visit Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Don’t miss the medieval castle which is surrounded by a moat and guarded by knights in armor. While visiting, ride the Storybook Land Express miniature train, which the entire family will enjoy. Storybook Land is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., April 15 through Oct 15. No admission fee is charged.
Land of OZ
The Land of OZ is located adjacent to Storybook Land and is based primarily on the original “Wonderful Wizard of OZ” story as written by L. Frank Baum. The theme park recreates the characters and settings from the story based on Mr. Baum’s descriptions. Sets located along the Yellow Brick Road include the Scarecrow's house, the Tin Woodman's house, the Apple Tree Forest, the Lion's Den, the Wicked Witch's Castle and the Haunted Forest. Dacotah Prairie Museum
Dedicated to telling the story of this land and of the people who have lived on it, this museum contains a large section of historical items including Indian artifacts, centennial quilts, period settings, toys for all ages and much more. Hutterite Colony Tours

The Hutterite are a truly unique culture, one that has changed little in over four centuries and has thrived more than a century in South Dakota. J.L.W. Zietlow Telephone Pioneer Museum
Located within the Dacotah Prairie Museum, contains the largest collection of independent telephone company exhibits in the U.S., dating back to 1886. The automatic telephone dialing system was developed by Aberdonian J.L.W. Zietlow, who built and operated the first telephone line in the area.
The Granary
A rural cultural center for the Dakotas located on 2.3 acres of land in the heart of the fertile James River Valley. In this unique and hospitable place, artists display their work to celebrate the culture of the Northern Plains. The Center depicts a historic wooden granary with its interior converted to an exhibition facility and art gallery. Includes outdoor stage and spacious gazebo. Hunting & Fishing

Every October, the skies above the Aberdeen area fill with a spectacular assortment of waterfowl. Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge, www.sandlake.fws.gov, located just 30 miles northeast of Aberdeen, is a major stopping point for thousands of snow, blue and Canadian geese in their annual southern migration. Every pond, slough and lake becomes a resting spot for ducks of almost every variety - mallards, teal, redheads - they're all here!
South Dakota is famous for the most exciting, sought-after upland game bird in existence - the Chinese Ring neck Pheasant! Dense pheasant populations can be found throughout northeastern South Dakota. Ample public hunting areas provide excellent hunting. Located in the Glacial Lakes Region of South Dakota, Aberdeen provides exciting sport fishing opportunities. Mina and Richmond Lakes are both within 15 minutes of Aberdeen. Anglers go after walleye, northern pike, crappie, largemouth bass, perch, bluegills, channel catfish and bullheads. Lake recreational areas feature camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, water-skiing and hiking. Aberdeen is centrally located between the Missouri River and Big Stone Lake.
